Role overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Credit Control Administrator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing customer debt and maintaining healthy cash flow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing customers’ accounts ensuring customers pay invoices on time and addressing any payment issues
- Negotiating payment plans with customers
- Initiating collections against debts which are overdue against the agreed terms
- Taking ownership of the ledger and customers assigned, building strong relationships both internally and externally to achieve targets.
- Administrative duties for fresh desk in AR ensuring all incoming tickets are assigned correctly and responses and resolutions are achieved in a timely manner.
- Resolving customer queries promptly including investigations and raising cases working closely with other members of the finance team and wider business to resolve customers queries taking ownership to ensure they are satisfactorily resolved and provide excellent customer service.
- Maintaining accurate notes on customer account, key responsibility being any communication is accurately recorded.
- Issuing LBA’s and working with 3 party collection agencies on overdue invoices, taking ownership of this process and maintaining communications with external parties and keeping accurate notes on the customer’s account.
- Proactive communications on new invoices to ensure we have accurate contact information, and the customer is aware of the payment terms.
- Ensure housekeeping is updated on all contact information and investigations are done on all failed emails.
- Proposing process enhancements or system improvements keeping to our value of we never stand still.
- Providing administrative support to the wider finance team as required and any other finance related adhoc duties that may come up from time to time.
What will you need to succeed?
Experience:
- Customer service and credit control experience, ideally within the education industry.
- Proven ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment, working toward shared objectives.
- Familiarity with Netsuite is a plus and will set you apart.
- Proficiency with Excel spreadsheets.
- Demonstratable experience in a similar role.
- Experience working towards set targets and KPIs.
- Experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Freshdesk or similar platforms.
Knowledge:
- Basic understanding of credit control processes and customer risk assessment through credit scoring.
Skills:
- Outstanding communication skills, enabling effective and professional interactions.
- Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Confident in handling complex customer account queries and demonstrating successful resolution.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
- Proven capability to juggle multiple customer accounts with efficiency and precision.
