Credit and Collections Analyst: The Impact You’ll Have On The Organization and World

  • You’ll play a critical role in ensuring the timely collection of outstanding payments, directly contributing to the company’s cash flow, financial stability, and long-term profitability.
  • By analyzing credit data and customer payment histories, you will help mitigate financial risk, making informed decisions that protect the company’s bottom line while maintaining strong customer relationships.

What Does a Typical Day Look Like? Here are your primary responsibilities:

  • Managing a portfolio of 150-250 customer accounts with the objective of ensuring consistent on-time payment from our customers. Daily collection efforts via email and telephone will be necessary.
  • Answering timely, all incoming customer inquiries regarding invoices and open/closed AR balances.
  • Monitoring of customer remittance details, reviewing payment details against open AR balances and supporting the Cash Application team as requested.
  • Managing of a daily blocked order report, reviewing open orders against the accounts’ credit limits and balances each day with the goal of minimizing risk to Bakelite.
  • Developing strong relationships with the Bakelite Commercial Sales and Customer Service teams. Using these relationships to navigate potential customer growth while focusing on risk mitigation will occur often.
  • Presenting data from Excel/BI in collaboration calls with internal teams.
  • Analysis and assessment of the credit worthiness of potential new customers, completing and documenting the manual credit risk assessment as required.
  • Participation in automated collection efforts, E.g. Dunning, automated statements, late payer notifications.

What is Needed to be Successful in this Role (Required Skills/Abilities):

  • A minimum of five years’ of relevant experience in a credit, AR, risk analysis, or other finance role.
  • Experience working in an organization committed to Health, Safety and Environment.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, self-driven organizational skills, and strategic time-management skills.
  • Great written and verbal communication skills.
