Maintenance Scheduler: The Impact You’ll Have On The Organization and World
- Your primary responsibility is the detailed planning of all mechanical and IE maintenance work that will be executed by the plant’s maintenance workforce.
- You will schedule all maintenance jobs such that craft productivity and plant operational up times are maximized.
- You’ll be the primary liaison between operations, maintenance, and engineering groups and maintains appropriate records and files to permit meaningful analysis and reporting of results or work done.
- You will work alongside the Maintenance Manager to meet budget requirements, will serve in a team coaching capacity.

What Does a Typical Day Look Like? Here are your primary responsibilities:
- Support and promotes EHS procedures and policies in the maintenance scheduling process and execution. Leads plant safety culture initiatives through maintenance scheduling activities.
- Develops job specific plans (work steps, materials required, permits required, etc.) for maintenance work, using SAP.
- Determines job scope and requirements in the field and by interacting with requestors, coordinators, crafts, and leaders.
- Forecast future resource requirements based on work backlog maintained in the SAP PM module.
- Plan and schedule maintenance turnaround activities, facilitate turnaround meetings, assist the Maintenance Supervisor in coordinating contractors and crafts.
- Uses existing key performance indicators and develop new trending systems to improve maintenance planning, scheduling, expense forecasting, equipment reliability and cost control.
- Assist Engineers with planning and scheduling capital and expense projects.
- Prepares weekly & daily work schedules by working closely with the Production Leaders, Schedulers, Maintenance Supervisor, Shift Supervisor, and contractors. Facilitates daily and weekly scheduling meetings with all key stakeholders.
What is Needed to be Successful in this Role (Required Skills/Abilities):
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred.
- Must have 5 years maintenance mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation experience.
- Must have 5 years maintenance scheduler experience.
- Strong technical understanding and problem-solving skills.
- Planning capacity for coordination of multidisciplinary work.
- Strong interpersonal skills; able to work well and communicate in a timely manner with staff at all company levels.
- Strong technical IT knowledge with CMMS system experience, preferably SAP.
- Demonstrated ability to read standard blueprints, machine, and process drawings (P&ID, PFD, and Isometrics).
- Must have or meet requirements for a TWIC card.
- Some travel expected 10%.
- Physical ability to walk, drive, stand and lift up to 55 pounds repeatedly.
- Physical ability to enter confined spaces and wear a respirator.
