What will you do?

In this role you will be responsible for executing data analysis within a framework of guided research.

 

Working alongside one of BCA's strategist, this is what a typical day could look like:

  • You will collect and process economic and statistical data using Macrobond, APL, Bloomberg and available data sources
  • You will keep track of economic and financial data releases, as well as economic policy announcements
  • You will participate in research idea generation in an area of focus (region and/or asset class)
  • You will break down information/data and identify underlying causes to perform data analysis, testing and to create/develop/maintain basic models and indicators to support your Managing Editors hypotheses
  • You will assist in the production process by autonomously conducting preliminary research and creating detailed charts
  • You will develop analysis and writing skills by contributing to regular publications and special reports
  • You will provide client support on data and charts
  • You will be responsible for proofreading

 

Your competencies

  • Publication command: mastery of the technical tools, publication process and efficiency.
  • Analytical Rigor: analysis of the data and concern for order quality and accuracy.

 

Requirements

  • Fluidity with major data providers (Macrobond, APL, and Bloomberg) and ability to search in datasets
  • Firm understanding of economic indicators and the release calendar
  • Data Analytics - familiarity with econometric methods
  • Firm understanding of applied macroeconomics and financial markets
  • Knowledge of computers is essential: Superior level skills with Excel and Microsoft Office
  • External: minimum of two-years of experience in a research role with prior responsibilities
