Transport - Transport Manager

Transport Manager | Full time| Erith

We seek a highly motivated and experienced Transport Manager to join our dynamic team in Erith. The successful candidate will build professional relationships with our transport suppliers to ensure we are getting the best service most cost-effectively. Reporting to the Depot Manager, you will lead, develop, and support the Transport team while overseeing the transport department's daily operations, ensuring its efficiency.

THE ROLE: 

The role will include;

• Coordinating and managing transport operations to ensure timely delivery of goods
• Developing and implementing transport policies and procedures.
• Monitor and optimise transport costs and performance.
• Ensuring compliance with transport regulations and safety standards.
• Managing and leading a traffic team to ensure the business needs are achieved
• Maintaining accurate records of transport activities and prepare reports
• Supporting new initiatives and take an active part in projects relating to Transport

What we need from you:

Essential Skills

• CPC in road transport management.
• Proven experience as a Transport Manager or in a similar role.
• Experience in people management and developing teams.
• Strong knowledge of transport regulations, logistics, and working with carrier insurance requirements
• Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in transport management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Desirable Skills

English & Maths Level 4 (grade C)
