About the Role

Are you an experienced and motivated individual with a passion for logistics and freight forwarding? If so, we would love to hear from you! EV Cargo is seeking a dedicated Export Operator - Ocean Freight to join our Manchester team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing ocean freight shipments, ensuring efficient and timely delivery while maintaining excellent customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage ocean freight shipments from origin to destination, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and carriers to arrange shipping schedules, negotiate rates, and handle all necessary documentation.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Prepare and process shipping and customs documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and trade compliance policies.
  • Track and monitor shipments, providing regular updates to customers and stakeholders.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and handle unforeseen circumstances effectively.
  • Manage multiple shipments simultaneously while ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.

What We Need from You

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience in ocean freight operations, including knowledge of export procedures, customs regulations, and international shipping documentation.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
  • Professional and effective communication skills.
  • Proactive and results-driven approach with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
  • Self-motivated and committed to excellence.

Desirable Skills

  • Level 2 qualification in English & Maths.
  • Experience with CargoWise and ASM Sequoia systems.
