Reporting & Planning - Assistant Management Accountant

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Northampton team in the position of Assistant Management Accountant.

 

The purpose of this role is to support the Finance function in the preparation of the monthly Management Accounts and Balance Sheet reconciliations plus ad hoc reporting and analysis as required. There will be opportunities to be involved in process and system improvement and an inquisitive and challenging attitude will be encouraged. There will also be a requirement for travel to operational sites to facilitate better understanding of the business and develop relationships with stakeholders. This entry level role will provide a good grounding in Management Accounts.

 

 

Your duties would include but not limited to the following:

 

  • Assisting in the completion of month end accounts including:
    • Accruals / Prepayments
    • Inventory
  • Fixed Assets
  • Overheads
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Variance analysis for both month end & balance sheet accounts, this will also require the role to liaise with site personnel & management from around the business
  • Assisting with daily/weekly and ad hoc reporting
  • Reconciliation of site manual records to ledger entries
  • Assist with the forecast and annual budget process where appropriate throughout the year
  • Assisting with audits both internal & external when required
  • Actively seek, propose, and implement process improvements in area of responsibility and department
  • To build effective working relationships with the wider Finance team and relevant business stakeholders to enable the role to offer support on a range of topics from receipting GRN’s to reporting
  • Any other ad hoc tasks or project work that is deemed appropriate for the role
