Location: Hybrid - A blend of working from home and your nominated hub office, we have hubs in London, Bristol, Manchester and Oxford.

About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an AI Apprentice to join our team and gain hands on experience in AI technologies within the education sector, while learning from industry experts. As an AI apprentice, you will develop invaluable skills, whilst gaining a BSc (Hons) Digital & Technology Solutions.
This position is ideal for individuals with a strong interest in AI and its transformative potential in educational environments. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will actively contribute to the integration of AI solutions across universities and colleges, collaborating closely with experts and senior professionals. This hands-on experience will not only broaden your AI expertise but also equip you with the skills needed for impactful projects in this rapidly advancing field.
Responsibilities will include:
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the latest AI techniques, such as large language models (LLMs), diffusion models, multi-modal models, and retrieval augmented generation. Develop the ability to clearly explain these technical concepts to non-technical audiences through mentorship and practical training.
- Build expertise in specific AI applications relevant to the education sector. Learn to translate technical details into actionable insights through creating presentations, reports, and blogs, under the guidance of senior professionals.
- Assist in developing and distributing practical, impactful guidance on the adoption of emerging AI educational technologies. Learn to cater these strategies to a variety of educational stakeholders.
- Participate in research under expert guidance and contribute to thought leadership pieces that analyse trends in AI and education, fostering discussion and engagement.
- Learn to represent the team at external forums, conferences, and workshops. Develop presentation skills to discuss complex AI topics engagingly, contributing to the organisation's reputation as a thought leader.

The recruitment process involves the below:
- We receive your application and review it in line with our requirements for the role
- You will be notified via email if you have been either shortlisted or not eligible for the next stage
- A member of the Jisc Talent Acquisition team will be in touch to arrange an initial chat with you if shortlisted
- You will then be asked to record a short video responding to a choice of scenarios allowing us to get to know you better
- Thereafter you will be invited to an online interview with one of our line managers and a member of the Talent acquisition team or you will be contacted to advise you have not been selected
- We are hoping to complete all interviews by the end of April 2025, and will be in touch to present any offers of employment following your interview.
