THE ROLE: 

Are you a qualified ACA accountant with a passion for financial accuracy and team leadership? We are looking for an experienced professional to oversee our Weymouth accounting team and ensure the production of accurate financial accounts.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (RESPONSIBILITIES)

  • Oversee day-to-day activities of the accounting team, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting
  • Manage the preparation of statutory accounts at both Group and subsidiary levels under IFRS and FRS 101 accounting principles.
  • Own the Group audit process, maintaining strong relationships with auditors and acting as the point of escalation for audit queries.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of the General Ledger within SAP for precise reporting.
  • Provide technical support for the Finance department, including preparing and reviewing technical accounting papers.
  • Lead a team of accountants, offering development opportunities and guidance in line with Group policies.
  • Support the professional development of direct reports through coaching and participation in statutory accounts production.
  • Create a collaborative and supportive work environment, focusing on team morale.

 

WHO YOU ARE (YOUR SKILLS/EXPERIEINCE)

  • Qualified ACA accountant or equivalent, ideally with retail/audit experience.
  • Considerable experience in financial statutory reporting for consolidated and single entity accounts.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of IFRS and FRS 101.
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills, with experience in establishing new accounting processes in a multi-currency and multi-national environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
