10mnths Fixed Term Contract

Summary 

This is a great opportunity to join the group finance team and with exposure to the senior finance team. You’ll be supporting the Senior Finance Analyst and Finance Manager – Group in managing the central overheads and head office company balance sheet. Key responsibilities for the role will be preparing and performing month end work, ensuring that the month end close is completed on a timely basis, reconciling key balance sheet accounts, engaging with central cost centres to manage their P&L’s and assistance with tax matters (preparing VAT returns, corporation tax returns etc).    

 

Some key deliverables for this role: 

  • Recharging costs to the business and working with the divisions to resolve any queries on charges during the period
  • Working with central cost centres to ensure all transactions are correctly accounted for and gaining an understanding of performance during the period
  • Working with the Group Transactions team (Accounts Payable and Credit Control) to ensure a timely close of the month end ledgers
  • Taking ownership over balance sheet accounts to ensure that they are fully reconciled, and any issues have been corrected
  • Identify process improvements to ensure improvements in the month end close and / or reconciliation process
  • Engaging with central cost centres to produce quarterly and annual budgets 
  • Monitoring spend on a monthly basis to ensure accurate forecasting
  • Preparation of VAT returns and compiling information requests for corporation tax returns 

 

What we're looking for: 

  • Previous accounts team experience
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Analysing large volumes of data and preparing and presenting management information from this data
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Attention to detail, take pride in the quality and accuracy of their work
  • Positive, can-do, no blame attitude
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • COINS experience (desirable)
