Apprenticeships are available for anyone over 16 years of age. They offer you the opportunity to earn a wage and work full time in your chosen trade area. As a Freedom apprentice you will:

 

  • Train at one of the top performing colleges or training providers in the country.
  • Learn about our award-winning approach to working safely.
  • Work at our offices and undertake site visits.
  • Be prepared for early starts and travel away from home when necessary.
  • Develop great working relationships with some of the industry’s most talented people.
  • Have a strong support network giving you the chance to build your confidence and use your initiative.

 

You will learn to:

 

  • Support our team of surveyors on a variety of client sites to collect land and building measurements.
  • Learn to use geospatial techniques to plan and prepare a project brief as per the client specification.
  • Set up survey technology, undertaking equipment checks and adjustments, and operate following guidance from senior surveyor.
  • Process survey data and produce technical drawings in line with client requirements using software such as AutoCAD.
  • Maintain and clean all equipment and vehicles before travel and on return from site.
  • Complete all project administration including risk assessments.
  • Learn and follow all processes to ensure we are working in line with our ISO accreditations to support our sustainability goals, maintain a high quality of work, and put Health and Safety at the forefront of what we do.

 

We are looking for people who:

 

  • Have a valid UK driving licence.
  • Are keen to learn.
  • Share our values of Passion, Integrity Responsibility and Excellence.
  • Are organised and well prepared with excellent timekeeping and attendance.
  • Enjoys Maths and Geography, have good IT skills, and want to apply their knowledge in the real world.
  • Enjoy working in a team.
  • Can follow instructions and work under pressure.
  • Can act independently.
  • Have a positive attitude to learn and a can-do approach to problem solving.
  • Is physically fit – days on site will mean being on your feet for long hours in various conditions.

 

You will attend college in Dudley on block release to complete the Level 3 Geospatial Survey technician apprenticeship and regularly attend in-house training and development as part of the programme.

 

To apply you need:

 

To have a valid UK driving licence

 

5 GCSEs (or equivalent) – Grade B/6 or above in Maths, Grade C/4 or above in English, Science, Geography and 1 other subjects.

Please note, we are considering applications from both Leeds and Birmingham, however if shortlisted for our assessment centre, this part of the process will take place in Leeds.
