Summary
We are pleased to offer a new position for a goods in and dispatch operative to take ownership of operations within our Offsite Manufacture/Weld facility. In this role you lead a team of 6 operatives, who will accurately process, issue, replenish and dispatch materials within the site.
Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:
- Comply with the company’s health and safety standards, ensuring that the “safety first and foremost” message is visible and alive throughout all activities undertaken
- Manage all transactions, stock control and replenishment of materials, including Kanban, emergency stock, tools and PPE
- Highlight shortages, damaged or other material deficiencies for expediting/replacing
- Ensure all materials are checked on delivery, whilst cross referencing between purchase order and dispatch note
- Undertake the safe dispatch of materials, finished goods and assemblies, confirming quantities and quality at point of dispatch
- Ensure all surplus materials are managed, liaising with Procurement wherever necessary.
- Manage the rear yard, coordinate storage, waste skips, and vehicle movement. Greet delivery drivers and subcontractors
- Take responsibility for the quality of Kapton tape
- Ensure the correct brackets go on pallets, and coordinate the stacking of brackets (checking numbers of brackets and prepping for dispatch)
- Produce pallet and delivery notes
- Line management for a team of 6 operatives
- Assist operatives on occasion with picking/stacking
- Ensure exemplary standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation
- Champion and drive improvements through continuous improvement, and lean
What we’re looking for:
Previous experience of managing stock / warehouse management
Previous experience of managing a team
Good attention to detail
You would work a 4 day week, with hours of work are:
Mon - Weds: 7-5
Thursday: 7-4.30
Friday - overtime opportunities available
