Summary

 

NG Bailey are proud to be involved in the Hinkley Point C project based in Bridgwater, Somerset.  This is the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in Britain providing zero-carbon electricity for around six million homes. NG Bailey, the UK’s leading independent engineering and services business, are proud to be part of the MEH Alliance, a joint venture to deliver the mechanical, electrical and HVAC installation for the project.

 

As part of recent growth on this project, we have a new vacancy for a Configuration Control Engineer (Quality Engineer) to join the Work Packs team.  This role will have a focus on creating and maintaining information in the work pack, taking ownership to deal with amendments and communication of changes to all relevant stakeholders.  This role may also be suitable for someone with experience of quality assurance or document control from a mechanical or electrical background.

 

Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:

 

  • Provide and demonstrate positive HSE leadership, building a strong and compliant culture throughout the whole construction life cycle. Ensure all site activities are undertaken safely and responsibly, and in accordance with CDM regulations.
  • Manage relevant data & documentation (construction work packs, construction drawings, construction documentation, change requests and deviations).  Some requirement for creation of documentation.
  • Ensure any changes, information is cascaded through to the relevant teams.
  • Ensure consolidated and consistent product/project data is available for the whole lifecycle of the project.
  • Ensure configuration control is maintained, monitoring compliance to applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards and specifications.
  • Raise technical queries and monitor change.
  • Conduct regular site audits.
  • Provide a weekly report to relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead and foster a positive nuclear safety culture.

 

What we’re looking for:

 

  • Previous experience of working in quality role within a construction environment, ideally with Mechanical or Electrical knowledge.
  • Understanding of construction documentation, drawings etc.
  • Understanding of document management systems.
  • Experience of dealing with change and good communication skills for cascading of information to relevant teams.

NG Bailey on the Hinkley Point C Project:

We are working across both Hinkley Point C units to deliver the infrastructure that will power the station and its operations, creating 1,000 jobs including many specialist engineers. Works include the design and installation of circa 76,000 cables totalling over 3,000km in length; over 180km of cable containment support systems; fire and environmental sealing; design and installation of earthing systems, and specialist packages associated with data acquisition and plant control.
