We are seekingan experienced and skilled Senior PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will be responsible formanaging, maintaining, and optimizingour PostgreSQL databases to ensure their performance, availability, security, and scalability. You will work closely with our development teams to design and implement database structures and provide guidance and support for database-related issues.
Key Responsibilities:

Database Management and Maintenance:

Perform regular database maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, vacuuming, and indexing.

Monitor database performance, tune database parameters, and apply patches and upgrades to ensure optimalperformance and security.

Database Design and Development:
-
Collaborate with development teams to design efficient and scalable database schemas.

Assistin the development and optimization of SQL queries and stored procedures.

Security and Compliance:
-
Implement and maintaindatabase security measures, including access controls and encryption.

Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices.

Performance Tuning and Optimization:
-
Analyze database performance issues and implement solutions to resolve them.
-
Optimize database configuration and resources for optimalperformance.

Disaster Recovery and High Availability:
-
Develop and test disaster recovery plans.
-
Implement and maintainhigh-availability solutions such as replication, clustering, or failover systems.

Technical Support and Consultation:
-
Provide expert advice and support to development teams on database-related topics.

Troubleshoot complex database issues and provide effective solutions.

Documentation and Reporting:
-
Maintain comprehensive documentation of database environments and procedures.
-
Prepare reports on database performance and health for management review.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA or in a similar role.

Strong experience in managing large-scale PostgreSQL database environments.

Expertisein SQL and database optimization techniques.

Knowledge of database security, backup, and recovery best practices.

Familiaritywith scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Perl.

Experience with cloud-based database solutions is a plus.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communicationand collaboration abilities.
