Our Online Trade Analyst will be responsible for analysing online trading performance, including sales forecasting, returns analysis, and overall trading metrics, as well as digital marketing performance and budget management. This role will support the online team in making data-driven decisions to optimise sales, improve customer experience, and enhance profitability.

The Online Trade Analyst will provide specialist support around customer acquisition and retention, through the development of frameworks, models, tools, and processes that ensure that analytical insights can be incorporated into all key digital decision making.

Please note that this is a full-time, permanent role, which is available remotely across the UK with occasional travel to our Head Office locations in Cornwall. If you are a Cornwall based candidate, this role will be based at Head Office with a hybrid working approach.

You’ll help us by:

You’ll play a vital role in driving commercial performance through strategic planning, insightful analysis, and rigorous forecasting. You’ll collaborate closely with the Director of Online Trade & Marketing and the wider online team, as well as finance and merchandising leads, to help build our sales budgets and quarterly forecasts. Your work will inform inventory planning, marketing investment decisions, and broader financial projections, ensuring we hit our ambitious targets.

You’ll monitor and analyse a wide range of trading and marketing metrics - from sales, conversion rates, and average order value, customer acquisition, retention and return rates - delivering regular, data-driven insights to senior stakeholders. Your reports will go beyond the numbers, offering actionable recommendations through weekly trade updates, board reports, and bespoke dashboards built using tools like PowerBI, Tableau, and SQL. You’ll be central to ensuring the integrity of our data and reports, enabling clear, strategic decision-making across the business.

You’ll work collaboratively with trading, merchandising, and marketing teams to evaluate the performance of digital campaigns, pricing strategies, and promotional activity.

Within the role, you’ll develop a deep understanding of digital media effectiveness, incrementality and profitability. You'll help optimise budget allocations and provide clarity on the real contribution of each marketing channel.

The skills you’ll be sharing with the team:

  • Experience in online trading, digital marketing, forecasting and analytics – within a retailer would be advantageous.
  • Recognised qualification or equivalent experience using MS Excel, Google Analytics and SQL based statistical analysis and data visualization platforms.
  • Experience in ecommerce analytics, paid media analytics, with hands on accountability for creating reporting and dashboards to track key marketing metrics across multiple data sources.
  • Proficiency in the use of web analytics/user behaviour analytics such as GA4/360.
  • Working knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau and PowerBI.
  • Elementary knowledge of programming languages such as JavaScript and SQL.
  • Analytical mindset with a strong attention to detail.
  • Structured and proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement and growth.
  • An ability to unify data sets and tell data stories in an easy-to-understand format for non-specialists.
  • Used to working cross-functionally and good stakeholder management
  • Experience working with online trading teams would be advantageous.
