About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Global Proposal Team Director to lead our global bid function and drive business growth. This is a multi-faceted role that includes leading a team of bid professionals as well as developing compelling proposal responses for high value new logo and renewal RFx opportunities. The role is responsible for overseeing the proposal development process, driving efficiencies, consistency, effective content, and flexibility to support the global sales and client services organizations. We are looking for a detail-oriented leader who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, global environment.
The Proposal Team supports Magnit’s sales objectives by understanding client needs and creating winning proposals that are tailored to each client. The ideal candidate for this job should be able to write effective, concise and compelling content with a high attention to detail. A key function is to work as a team to get accurate, high quality information from all proposal stakeholders to produce differentiated proposal materials.
What You Will Do
Proposal Process & Strategy
• Lead and manage global proposal team processes, covering all aspects of proposal development, from initial response strategy to final submission.
• Develop and implement best practices, tools, and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness in proposal management.
• Ensure that proposals are compelling, customer-focused, and aligned with business objectives and compliance requirements.
• Oversee the use and optimization of Responsive software, ensuring the team maximizes its capabilities for content management and proposal automation.
• Track and report on all team activity in Salesforce.
• Review all incoming RFx documents and participate in the Opportunity Health Check to determine go/no go decision.
• Liaison with Responsive for contract renewals and new features/functions
Content Strategy & Development
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive content strategy for proposals, ensuring consistent messaging, brand alignment, and value articulation.
• Oversee the creation, organization, and optimization of a centralized content library within Responsive software, aligning with the content strategy for storage, tags, and library management.
• Continuously update and enhance proposal content by incorporating new products, messaging, feedback, trends, and best practices.
• Collaborate with marketing, sales, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to refine and expand content that supports business growth.
Team Leadership
• Mentor and develop a high-performing proposal team, providing guidance on proposal writing, strategy, and execution.
• Drive team development through ongoing coaching, individual career planning, and skills enhancement initiatives.
• Oversee performance management, including goal setting, performance reviews, and feedback sessions to ensure team growth and accountability.
• Manage compensation planning, ensuring fair and competitive pay structures aligned with performance and company objectives.
• Manage workload distribution and resource allocation to ensure timely and high-quality proposal submissions.
Company & Market Expertise
• Stay current with internal Magnit organizations to stay aligned with product updates, marketing messaging, research & development, etc.
• Translate industry insights into winning proposal strategies that differentiate the company from competitors.
You Will Need
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• 5-7 years relevant experience in bid management
• 3-5 years people management experience
• Strong project management skills and ability to multi-task
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills; ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships
• Creative problem-solving skills
• Working knowledge of Responsive proposal development software and Salesforce preferred
• Experience in the contingent workforce solutions industry
Salary is between $145,000 - $165,000 based on experience, qualifications and location.
