Senior Reporter, IFLR
International Financial Law Review (IFLR), a B2B title of Legal Benchmarking Group, is hiring a senior reporter to be based in its London offices. Targeting a sophisticated audience of lawyers, IFLR covers financial regulation, M&A, ESG and related areas with a business of law legal lens. We are looking to hire a self-starting, enthusiastic, results-driven journalist.
The primary function of the role is writing news, analysis, trends, Q&As and other pieces for IFLR’s subscription-based website, iflr.com, and weekly newsletters.
This role requires regular interaction with sources – the successful candidate is expected to be out in the field meeting contacts, attending industry events, chasing down leads and producing daily articles.
The successful candidate must reside in the UK, but hybrid working is allowed (one day required in the office). Candidates must be able to legally work in the UK; the company does not offer sponsorship.
Key responsibilities:
• Pitch, report and write daily articles for IFLR’s audience of primarily law firms;
• Support on strategic projects and milestone awards ceremonies
• Stay abreast of the latest business of law and financial-legal news and understand the impact on law firms;
• Develop and maintain good relationships with key members of the industry, conducting regular calls and meetings;
• Help boost IFLR’s subscription engagement with impactful coverage;
• Develop a keen awareness of IFLR’s readership and its interests, adapting the title’s coverage accordingly using metrics and customer feedback;
• Collaborate with the wider legal brands’ editorial and research teams to help make IFLR content engaging and to share best practices
The position requires:
• Strong interest in developments at the intersection of finance and law;
• Willingness to learn about complex subjects quickly;
• Previous journalism experience;
• Strong communication and language skills and storytelling ability;
• Excellent written and spoken English;
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively;
• Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
