The Role
You will support the Chief US Equity Strategist and the team, through the research, analysis, and production of US equity sectors- and style-focused publications. This will be a fast-paced environment that requires someone with a passion for financial markets, especially equities, research rigor, the ability to think independently and solve problems, as well as the technical know-how to collect, analyze and interpret data.
The Team
The US Equity Strategy team at BCA covers all top-down sector and style allocations, as well as long-term investment themes. We work in close collaboration with other BCA research units, to understand and analyze the key macroeconomic and fundamental drivers of US equities and make related recommendations. Our clients include very sophisticated investors across most continents and geographies.
A Day in The Life As An Analyst
- Develop an in-depth understanding of US equities and contribute to an investment idea generation
- Conduct broad US equities-related economic and investment research
- Summarize ideas and conclusions and draft sections of the reports
- Collect and process economic and statistical data using internal and external data sources
- Perform data analysis to test the macroeconomic or investment hypotheses
- Create, develop, and maintain investment models and indicators
- Provide client support on inquiries, data, and charts
- Contribute to all aspects of publishing. This includes working with the production team to facilitate the publishing process by ensuring a cohesive form of the final report
Requirements
- A graduate degree in Finance or Economics
- Ideally a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in a research role. Less research experience will be considered for candidates willing to move up the learning curve fast.
- Solid knowledge of Macroeconomics, Econometrics, Statistics, and Investments
- Advanced skills in analyzing data and interpreting charts
- Fluidity with statistical packages and ability to extract and manipulate datasets
- Good knowledge of R, Matlab, or Python is a plus
- A passion for financial markets, with the ability to think like an investor.
