Position Title: Senior Operations Advisor, Renal Access

 

Location: Minneapolis, Boston, Various US

A Day in the Life

  • Management of activities globally in support of a $150m Renal Access products business, across all operations functions including planning, engineering, contract manufacturing, procurement, supply chain/logistics and quality
  • Includes deployment and execution of strategy to meet needs and requirements in alignment with current activities and future transfers and expansion plans
  • Lead day-to-day operational execution in alignment with standards and processes of COE
  • Manage operational relationships with contract manufacturers and suppliers while holding them accountable for performance management against operational KPIs and defined commitments
  • Oversight of multiple and/or inter-related projects of a complex nature, defining them in terms of their constituent projects and providing an infrastructure which allows for optimization of business benefit, timing, utilization of resources and cost, which results in reducing inventory and WIP, improving forecast accuracy, optimizing the global supply chain, improving operational efficiencies, increasing customer service levels and on-time delivery all while reducing product cost and complexity.
  • Be active member in the operations of Mozarc Medical footprint in Alajuela, Costa Rica; Tijuana, Mexico; Fukuroi, Japan to support future growth  
  • Working outside the Operations Function with Research & Development, Marketing, Commercial, Finance and other organizations to ensure proper alignment for approved projects and programs.

 

Must Have

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar and minimum of 15 years of relevant experience with 10+ years of managerial experience , or advanced degree with a minimum 13 years prior relevant experience, minimum of 10 years of managerial experience.
  • 8+ years of Supply Chain or Operations experience in a manufacturing of disposables medical device equipment
  • 7+ years technical knowledge related to performance and manufacturing processes in the areas of Contract Manufacturing and Operations Management.
  • 5+ years of managerial experience
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Disposables or Catheter manufacturing knowledge
  • Ability to spend 20% of time on-site (Alajuela, Costa Rica; Tijuana, Mexico; Fukuroi, Japan

 

Nice to Have

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative/integrative style of working to accomplish objective.
  • Demonstrated success working across multiple disciplines (Engineering/R&D, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Logistics) to sort issues
  • Experience with detailed cost models and financial analysis
  • Knowledge of FDA regulated industries 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Previous experience in a medical device industry
  • Previous experience in leadership role within a multi-plant, matrix organization
  • Demonstrates strong business acumen and a bias for action.
  • Requires deep understanding of manufacturing planning (Materials Requirements planning and scheduling)
  • Broad scope and understanding of the End-to-End value chain and interdependencies
  • Experience with divestures and/or acquisitions will be an advantage
