Scheduler: The Impact You’ll Have On The Organization and World
- You will help maximize efficiency by meticulously manging and optimizing schedules. You’ll help ensure that resources and time are utilized effectively, enabling the Lufkin team to meet deadlines, improve productivity, and achieve operational goals.
- As a Scheduler, you will enhance workflow coordination using attention to detail and organizational skills to drive seamless coordination between departments, minizming delays and maximizing output while ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned.

What Does a Typical Day Look Like? Here are your primary responsibilities:
- Generate, update and publish schedules for the site.
- Coordinate scheduled production downtime within scheduling model.
- Work with the Raw Materials Buyer to optimize inventories and maintain the target days of supply.
- Provide the Buyer the required delivery schedule for raw materials.
- Analyze schedule for potential problems and report to Regional Supply Chain, Operations and Commercial.
- Optimize Assets and regional production to meet customer demand at the lowest operating cost.
- Drive back up plans for scheduled and un-scheduled outages and lead the production schedule recovery effort for the site.
- Reschedule production as necessary.
- Monitor production against schedule and communicate status to site production staff.
- Maintain the accuracy of user-defined data in the Scheduling Model.
- Monitor scheduling metrics to drive continuous improvement and cost reduction opportunities.
- Develop and maintain scheduling procedures.
- Execute MRP to ensure availability of raw materials and resources.
- Communicate raw material shortages to Regional Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Operations, and Commercial management.
- Review the accuracy of production data and provide recommendations.
- Manage materials inventory (raw materials, intermediates and finished products).
- Drive productivity projects within the site.
- Backup other sites as required.
- Track and report metrics on inventory quantity and slow-moving inventory.
What is Needed to be Successful in this Role (Required Skills/Abilities):
- A minimum of three years’ of relevant experience and/or operations experience.
- Knowledge of the principles of MRP and scheduling.
- Experience working in an organization committed to Health, Safety and Environment.
- Experience with SAP, M3, and Microsoft Excel preferred.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build key working relationships with all levels of the organization.
- SAP and M3 experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
