Job Description: Senior Financial Accountant
Job responsibilities
Responsible for month end closing accounting process (according to Bakelite’s closing timetables and requirements)
- Ascertains compliance with Bakelite’s Accounting Policies & Procedures
- Preparation of journal entries and ensure that accruals are properly recorded and analyzed
- Globally responsible for Cash Accounting, GRIR, Leases, Cost Allocations and Intercompany
- Review and monitor processes
- Preparation and review of account reconciliations
- Preparation of supporting schedules
- Analysis of the various accounts and variances per legal entities, obtain explanations on deviations and prepare a summarized reporting on a monthly basis
- Subject Matter Expert for Bakelite for certain processes
- Participating in project groups in order to implement (new) accounting policies & processes.
- Prepare and coordinate documentation for internal/external auditors for annual accounts-, tax- and transfer pricing-audits
• Close interface with various stakeholders, Regional Controllers, Treasury and IT

Education/Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting; HBO (bachelor’s degree) or equivalent required
- 5-7 years’ experience mainly in accounting; chemical industry background an advantage
- USGAAP experience
- SAP experience
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Integrity and value driven
- Good interpersonal/problem solving skills.
- Pro-active hands-on attitude
- Highly organized
- Able to handle multi-tasks simultaneously.
- Fluent English, additional language skills beneficial but not essential
This role is a mixture of hybrid working and based in our Seattleweg office
