Software Test Engineer

About the Role

As a Software Test Engineer at Magnit, you will be responsible for testing, implementation, and maintenance of systems related to Magnit Systems. You will work in an Agile team environment, ensuring adherence to testing standards, procedures, and techniques. Your role will involve manual testing, database validation, and regression testing to ensure high-quality software delivery.

What You Will Do

• Define, document, develop, and maintain test scripts for manual test cases.
• Understand use cases, identify test scenarios, and validate test data.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, and database testing as per release schedules.
• Analyze and validate data, ensuring consistency in data and report testing.
• Write and execute SQL queries to validate data in the Oracle database.
• Participate in PI (Program Increment) Planning and Agile refinement meetings.
• Support the QA Planning process, including defining:
• Test Scope
• Test Strategy
• Testing Workflow
• Report and track defects in JIRA and ensure timely resolution.
• Provide weekly production support after every major release.
• Monitor system stability, performance, and accuracy post-release.
• Update regression test cases as per changes in each release.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with developers and analysts.
• Prepare reports on test results, testing progress, and risks affecting delivery timelines.
• Clearly document test results, defects, and reproduction steps for issue resolution.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate with 2-4 years of experience in software testing (Manual Testing).
• Proficiency in writing and executing SQL queries (Oracle DB experience preferred).
• Strong experience with JIRA for defect tracking and test management.
• Experience with database testing to validate backend consistency.
• Familiarity with SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and Agile methodologies.
• Good written and verbal communication skills (Upper-Intermediate or Advanced English).
• Ability to learn, adapt, and apply new technologies in testing.
• Detail-oriented and proactive approach to software quality assurance.

Nice to Have (Not Mandatory)

• Exposure to API Testing (Postman, REST Assured).
• Basic knowledge of Automation Testing (Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress).
• Familiarity with test management tools.
