We are searching for Principal Mechanical Design Engineer


A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Be one the primary technical reference point of the mechanical team.
  • Researches, plans, designs, verifies, validates and develops mechanical and/or electromechanical products and systems.
  • Recommends various technology options or approaches for system, processes, facility or program improvements in terms of safety, performance, efficiency or costs.
  • May be responsible for the transfer from R&D to manufacturing.
  • Analysis and optimization of device and components performances.

An individual contributor with responsibility in our technical functions to advance existing technology or introduce new technology and therapies. Formulates, delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. May act as a mentor to colleagues. The majority of time is spent delivering R&D, systems or initiatives related to new technologies or therapies – from design to implementation - while adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills.

 

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • MSc. in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering (PhD is a plus).
  • Experience: 10y min in industrial mechanical design (experience in team leading is a plus).
  • Deep knowledge in mechanical design, GD&T and tolerance stack up.
  • Deep knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic technologies (applied to biomedical devices is a plus).
  • Deep knowledge on Design for Reliability & Manufacturability (Green Belt certification min. Black Belt certification is a plus).
  • Knowledge of the 3D modeling (PTC Creo).
  • Knowledge of PLM systems (PTC Windchill).
  • Knowledge of international standards (applied to biomedical devices)..

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of biomedical R&D documentation.
  • Knowledge of mechanical simulations (FEA ANSYS)
  • Design Control and Design Transfer expertise.
  • Knowledge of the of NVH analysis tools (Matlab, LabView)
